In general terms warehouses is storage of goods for the purpose of making profit. Warehouses receive goods and facilities which are eventually sent for distribution to consumers and other services. These physical locations are also known as distribution center. The emergence of warehousing facilities dates back to the creation of granaries to store food materials which were made available during the time of famines. As several Europeans, who were explorers in nature began to build shipping-routes with other nations; the significance of the warehouses grew for storing of various products and commodities. World War II affected warehouses majorly leading to the need of more storage spaces and the requirement of more mechanized measures of storing and distributing the goods.
