Now that you are familiar to how warehousing services play a vital role and has become immediate requirement for every business, follow up of this write-up talks about different types of warehouses:  

1. Dockyard Warehouses: as the name itself says a lot, it’s not a location-specific warehouse, these are located within close coastal cities and/or harbour proximity. Also known as a bonded warehouse, it’s not a stone-carved rule, but has been observed that usually, these warehouses are government owned. Post manufacturing, goods are unloaded at dockyard warehouses and then are sent to the retailers and middlemen, depending on the requirement. Conversely, shipping companies have tie-ups with warehouses to stock goods in them.

 

2. Trans-loading Warehouses: similar to dockyard warehouse India, trans-loading warehouses are located near the container ports. There’s a fixed time-span, post which, goods get the approval and are reloaded onto the rail-cars for their ultimate delivery to the destination.

3. Cold Storages: this is something that majority would be familiar to. Perishable in nature, goods such as dairy products, poultry, fruits and veggies, horticultural products, canned products are stored. The reason being very simple, post manufacturing, if these goods are not stored immediately in warehouse space Chennai or in any other region, there are a high probabilities that goods like fruits and veggies would rot, which would be last wished for thing. So, keeping the nature and delicateness, cold storages are located either very much closer to the airports or dockyards. The ultimate objective is to send goods to different locations ASAP, without letting good suffer in any way. For the reason that there’s flawless state-of-the-art technology and mind-blowing refrigeration facilities, cold storage hits the priority list of every entrepreneur who deals in these aforementioned goods.
